Good morning, lovely dreamers, and welcome to another geeky lifestyle Star Wars infused blog post here on Dreaming of Butterflies!
We know that by now you've organized and reorganized every corner of your home, and the big C has got you down, and now you're in the mood for relaxation. And hey, if you have not, but still need to escape to another galaxy far far away, do it! It's not a productivity contest.
As you may know by now, May the 4th is a big deal in our house. For two reasons.
1. It's Star Wars Day! Woop Woop!
and
2. It's my birthday.

I always like to say that I was destined to love Star Wars, because the Force chose me for this special day, lol. And the truth is I’ve loved Star Wars ever since I was a child. It's probably mostly because of one of my uncles, but I still use it (some might say as an excuse) to feel like a kid today, in my 30s.
And let's not forget that a few years ago my beloved Andy made me the best Star Wars surprise ever.
My very own lightsaber, with runes that say my name and all! This is a super fun DIY project that I wish I could share with you, but maybe I'll convince Andy to do it, one of these days.

But today is not about me. It's about Star Wars.
When it comes to celebrating Star Wars, there are sooo many things you can do that it can become overwhelming just to think about. From doing a full 9 movie marathon, plus the Stories, plus Clone Wars, you could even throw Rebels, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and the Clone Wars series in there, stuff yourself on junk food and basically end up a zombie by the end. You don't want that.
You want a fun Celebration, don't you?
A fun Star Wars Celebration needs more, besides the movies (that are mandatory). It needs good food, great beverages, some other Star Wars activities like playing Monopoly, and even Battlefront on the Xbox or PlayStation, reading some stories, or even colouring in a Star Wars colouring book!
You can even dress up in your favourite characters and have an early Comic-Con inside. Why not? Because we probably won't have one this year.
But you know what's the most important ingredient to a perfect celebration? Enthusiasm.
In other years we will be able to rejoin with friends and have a full-on party (The Big Bang Theory style!) when it will be easier to travel again, but that doesn't mean that this year has to be sad because you're stuck in one place. Let's make the most of it!
But enough with the chit-chatting! Let's get to it!
How to organize the PERFECT Star Wars Celebration at Home
With so much to do, and so many to see, we had to organize it a bit now, to avoid going crazy, so we divided everything into 3 days of fun. And a fourth as a bonus that will probably be for sleeping.
As we have tons to see, this year we're focused only on the movies, as we enjoy the series in other months. The Mandalorian sure took us by surprise (you know how adorable the Child, aka Baby Yoda is), and we do want to dive into the new series they're coming up with, but Andy needs a refresher before all that new information.
And of course, there wouldn't be a celebration, without Blue and Green milk!

And yes, Wookie Cookies and Lightsaber Pretzels are mandatory. Yum yum yum! Don't forget to check our Star Wars inspired recipes for more super easy delicious treats you can try and make over the weekend.
So here goes our celebration schedule:
Day 1: The Original Trilogy
As always, you have to start the celebrations from the Original Trilogy. Pair this with Rogue One: A Star Wars story, this Yoda Guacamole with the best homemade tortilla chips ever, some Princess Leia cupcakes, and a cup of delicious blue milk. Ahh... perfection.
Simple as that. There's no need for more today.
Day 2: The Prequel Trilogy
On the second day, we're going social! All you need is a Star Wars Monopoly, like this 40th Anniversary that we've got, and social media! So you can call some friends or family members and have the most interesting Monopoly game ever.
We have this crazy idea that came to us after a late-night conference with some of our friends and we might just pull it off this time.
Now if there are two of you, have one phone on a tripod or a shelf overlooking the board game, and another one for actually talking and seeing each other (Don't forget to mute one of them, btw).
If your family/friends don't have dice, just roll for them and show them the roll. Also, I think there's an app for rolling dice if they have any ideas that you might cheat, so try using that.
You can have the movies playing in the background, or schedule the movie after a game. Finger foods are perfect for this, like lightsaber pretzels mixes, marshmallow Stormtroopers, oh, Wookie cookies!
Day 3: The Sequel Trilogy
A trilogy of trilogies would not be complete without the sequels, now wouldn't it? And with all the movies now available to buy on Amazon Prime, you don't even have to worry. Also, if you want to take a break from just lounging, and hugging your Star Wars Pillows, this Mini BB8 looks so fun to play with! And it even talks to you!

Pairing this sequel with Solo: A Star Wars Sory, it's kind of poetic. Dive into how Han Solo's story started, and also see how it ended.
Enjoy a cup of green milk while you're at it, and whatever goodies you put in it, don't forget, a few drops of green and yellow food coloring and it's perfect!
Don't forget!
