Updated August 2023.
Good morning, lovely dreamer, and welcome to another magical gift guide here on the DoB blog! How are you today? Are you ready to embark on this magical journey with us today?
Be ready, because this is a MASSIVE one, filled with everything a true witch or wizard might need for their ever-growing collection, from books, collectables and of course, wearables, all with the seal of approval of J.K. Rowling and Warner Brothers, obviously.
To be true, we only have in our personal collection some of these items, like all the books, the movies, the sorting hat (love this one!) but because we are both Ravenclaw, this year we’ll add some house pride stuff to our collection for sure! (And maybe a wand or two)

The Magical Harry Potter & Fantastic Beasts Gift Guide perfect for every witch, wizard, and muggle
1. The Books
Even though most of you, witches and wizards, surely have all of them already, some of the muggles reading this probably did not find The Hogwarts Library Box Set, for example. It’s tricky to get your hands on them if you’re a no-maj like the Americans say.
Complete Collections – Children’s and Adult versions
Harry Potter Box Set: The Complete Collection (Children’s Paperback)
Harry Potter Boxed Set: The Complete Collection (Adult Paperback)
We personally have the Children’s version, and it is perfect for us, but the Adult one looks amazing!
You cannot go wrong with this 3 book set, containing three of the much-loved classics – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the one written by Newt Scamander, Quidditch Through the Ages and The Tales of Beedle the Bard.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard – Illustrated Edition: A magical companion to the Harry Potter stories
If you want something else to impress your favorite Potterhead, go for the illustrated edition, simple and beautiful!
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Parts One and Two: The Official Playscript
Even though most people either have mixed feelings about this one, it is still a must-have in the collection.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – The Original Screenplay
How can we not include the newest additions to the Wizarding World? Btw, I cannot wait for the other 3 to come out!
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – The Original Screenplay
2. The Movies
Harry Potter – Complete 8-Film Collection on DVD
Of course, you could go for Blu-Ray or 4K as well
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on DVD
Again, you can go Blu-ray, 3D or 4K on it! what to choose, what to choose?
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald on DVD
The Harry Potter Collection, in particular, is gorgeous, and it has all the 8 films, plus 8 bonus DVDs called Creating the World Of Harry Potter, filled with all the magic behind the magic! For a true geek, they are priceless (and you don’t have to spend a fortune on 4K if you don’t want to).
3. Wearables & other geek merch
This section includes some house pride stuff, personal favourites, and games! How could it not have games? 🙂
This will look great on our sofa, plus it’s great to take on a Scotland weekend escape.
For any traveller, muggle or witch or wizard on the run all the time, this is a great mug to have. Keeps the tea perfect.
Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit Game
We actually got this game as a gift from one of our friends, and guess what? I finally won a game!
Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle Deck Building Game
This looks like fun, and actually, some reviewers say that it is great even for non Harry Potter fans, so it’s a win.
Harry Potter Talking Sorting Hat
Put the hat on your head and listen! It does say the houses randomly, but we both got Ravenclaw on the first try. It really knows! Andy actually got this one for me for my birthday, but it is fitting for any occasion. Plus it is really fun to recreate the moment when Harry says: “Not Slytherin! Not Slytherin!”
And like any girl, I’m very into lights of any kind, and these Potion bottle lights would look great on the shelf where the books are, don’t you think?
4. Collectables
Here we include plushies, magical creatures, jewellery and of course, wands! The prices may seem a bit high for some of these, but they are official, real quality replicas, and some very cute fantastic beasts. They are definitely worth it.
Magical creatures:

Jewelry:
Not to spoil anything, but besides the fact that this is BEAUTIFUL and it’s definitely my new favourite jewellery item from the Wizarding World, it is going to be a big deal in Fantastic Beasts, for sure.
We all know what this does, it’s just sad that in our universe it doesn’t want to work. But maybe, if you give it just 3 turns, that should do the trick…
Wands:
Of course, there are a lot of wands that deserve to be collected, but for the sake of this particular gift guide, let’s stick to the favourites, shall we?
Fantastic Beasts Newt Scamander’s Wand
Fantastic Beasts Queenie Goldstein’s Wand
Fantastic Beasts Gellert Grindelwald’s Wand (aka The Elder Wand). Andy had his eyes on this one, and now he owns it. Should I be concerned?
Hermione Granger’s WandLord Voldemort Replica Wand
Fantastic Beasts Porpentina Goldstein’s Wand
Fantastic Beasts Dumbledore’s Wand (aka Sexy Dumbledore’s Wand)
Fantastic Beasts Nicolas Flamel’s Wand
This is a new personal favourite.
Aaaaand, that’s all for today, lovely dreamers! Phew, that was a looong list, wasn’t it? If you liked it, don’t forget to tell us what was your favourite items, and of course, if you enjoyed this gift guide, don’t forget to share it, pin it, tweet it!
