Good morning, lovely dreamers, and welcome to another selection of life hacks we picked up along the way in our early 20s.

So you just moved out of your mom's house, got a job, and life hit you in the face like a train. We know how you feel, we've been there. With all the craziness in your life, cleaning is just another stressful quest, but it doesn't have to be so.

If you just moved on your own and you're learning how to deal with this magical, crazy thing called life, without the constant help of mom and dad, we congratulate you, gorgeous, brave soul!

We know it can be scary and overwhelming sometimes, but it's an important step we have to take sooner, rather than later in life.

I remember when I first moved out of my parents' place. It was scary, crazy and awesome! I was happy to be "free" but soon found out that I needed to take care of everything on my own.

The only thing I knew is that I needed to make lists of the cooking essentials and cleaning essentials that need to be in our home.

Of course, everyone makes mistakes, and it's really easy to go overboard with spending your hard-earned money on unnecessary tools, but I learned that there are a lot of things you don't need in your house to have a good, clean space to live.

To make life a little easier for you, here's a list of cleaning essentials that we think every house needs, no matter where you live or how many roommates you have.

But enough with the chit-chatting, let's get to it!

Life Hacks: What cleaning essentials every home must have

1. Cleaning products

Standing in the cleaning products section in the supermarket is overwhelming as fuck! I still have that problem now, after years of shopping.

There are so many crazy products, that it can get horrifying for you, especially after you see how much you need to pay for them. Granted, they last from 2 to 3 months, but it's still crazy expensive.

An easy trick is to have more universal, or multi-purpose products and the shopping bill will shorten considerably. All you really need are the following: Window cleaner, Disinfectant, some sort of Scrub Paste, a Floor Cleaner, All-purpose Wet wipes.

I know, I know, you're poor, they're expensive, it's hard, it all sucks, but you can DIY them for less than 10$ total! They don't have to be such a financial effort, and they are a must-have!

2. Sponges, microfiber cloths, and dishcloths

Besides the cleaning products, the smart investment will have to be quality sponges and microfibre cloths to scrub and wipe the dirt off. These, I am afraid, can't be DIY so easily, that's why you need to buy them, but if you take care of them properly, they can last you a very long time.

Tip: If you go to your local supermarket, consider buying their own branded products. Just because they don't have a fancy name, that doesn't mean they don't have quality. Most of the times, you pay more for the brand name, than the actual product, so keep that in mind.

3. Vacuum cleaner

Let me make a confession first - I absolutely hate vacuum cleaners. I do.

They are big, some of them expensive as hell, older models make a lot of noise and it's hard to find them a storage spot when you live in a tiny place, BUT they are essential for proper cleaning.

Why? They suck all the dust, don't just spray it all over like a broom does, and they make cleaning faster.

This is an investment you have to make, for your own good.

Great spots to find good ones at great prices are usually markets and garage sales, but if you want a newer model with guaranteed warranty at a good price, don't hesitate to search online before buying from the store near you.

It might even be cheaper to buy it online and wait for it a couple of days.

4. A mop and a bucket with a strainer

You need a good mop and a quality bucket in your home, to keep those floors clean. They don't have to be expensive as diamonds - trust me, I've seen some crazy prices.

The most important thing to keep in mind is the strainer, it must be thick, so that it doesn't break at the first use.

Also, what is overlooked by most people, including me (oops!) is changing the head of the mop often, some people say that switching it with a new one every couple of months should be ok.

5. A duster

The last essential in your cleaning kit is a duster. You know, that silly looking stick thingy your moms and grandmoms use to clean up the dirt on the areas you can't easily access, like the corners of the walls and ceilings.

6. Cleaning gloves

Do you remember Dexter's Laboratory cartoon series from 1000 years ago? If you do, then you might remember Dexter's mom used to wear these long yellow cleaning gloves all the time.

Well, when we moved on our own, these gloves were some of the first things we ever bought. If you're a geek like me, you'll feel a happy tingle inside every time you'll put them on.

Plus, they will help with keeping your hands safe and clean.

Aaaaand, that's all folks! Now you are done and ready to take on the spring cleaning season like a pro!

Hopefully, this list of cleaning essentials helped you as much as it helped us, and if it did, make sure to share it, pin it, tweet it!
