Good morning, lovely dreamers and welcome to another relationship-related blog post. Today we want to dive into our romantic side, but also to keep real to our frugal and practical side, while we share some date ideas with you.
Being in a long-term relationship is awesome (8+years for us!), but it's also hard work - if you want it to be a successful, lasting one. Living on a tight budget also makes things harder most times, but that shouldn't break your bond- it should only make it stronger.
Even though sometimes is hard, date nights have to be relaxing, stress-free moments. Having dates on a budget turned into a fun way for us to see what can we do for 0 costs or anything less than 30 £, for both of us.
It was both a challenge, and a game.
The reward?
Well, if his idea got us to have fun, enjoy and relax, he would get a full body relaxing massage (and I would get the benefits of that, haha!)... while I would get his uninterrupted attention for as long as I wanted, and could do whatever I wanted to him (if you know what I mean...).
So yes, we sure know how to have free fun. Or as close to free as possible.
But life does get busy, and messy, and responsibilities, jobs and stress just want to mess with everything... which means that sometimes you might forget how it even feels to let go and enjoy your time together.
But have no fear! That's why we are here!

You just have to keep an open mind, okay?
But enough with the chit-chatting! Let's get to it!
5+ Budget-Friendly Date Ideas that you and your partner will LOVE
1. Cook together
The cheapest way to enjoy a delicious freshly cooked meal at a small price is to make it yourself. If you and your loved one love are working on it together, the result will be awesome!
The whole cooking process helps you connect, learn something new about and from each other, and overall it's a fun experience.
Even after 8 years, we still enjoy cooking together, and we wish we could do it more often than just once per week.
2. Go swimming
Depending on the time of the year and where you live, this can be a free experience or an equally wonderful one at a small price. Swimming is relaxing and good exercise for you.
Why not make it an awesome date? If you can go by sea, or a lake, pack a nice picnic and you are set!
3. Gaming date night
Being gamers, a gaming date night is mandatory. We must have at least two gaming date nights per month, just because we love it.
It costs way less than a movie or a fancy dinner out, and we do what we love, for as much time as we want, in the comfort of our home - usually, our sofa - that we can turn into a bed if we're really lazy :).
All we need to make it complete are two bowls of snacks and that's it!
And with all the lockdowns still going on everywhere untill we get a vaccine, it's the perfect way to spend the weekend evenings.
4. Free Concerts
Live concerts make life worth living.
Enjoying good music live, in a pub, a tiny bar or outdoors is just a great way to have fun, dance, and sing. Most of them have free entry, so that's just perfect for young couples like us.
Now I know that Covid-19 went berserk and we all miss these live events, but the good part is that so many artists have live sessions on social media nowadays that you can listen in and enjoy from your PJs! So there's the silver lining for ya!
5. At home movie night
Bring movie nights to a new level. As going to the cinema right now is kind of a big no-no, just make your own cinema at home.
You can easily watch everything online these days, so why not make movie nights at home, in the living room, on your own cosy couch?
If you want to make it interesting and have a big empty wall somewhere around the house, instead of watching on your TV, why not get a projector, set up a picnic, and have a proper date indoors?
Promise you won't regret it!
6. Massage date
Nothing compares to intimacy for a young couple. A great way to get more out of your intimate moments it's to turn your bedroom into a mini spa for a few hours and massage each other.
All you need are a few candles, relaxing music and massage oil. It doesn't matter if you know how to massage or not!
You don't need to be a professional masseuse/masseur to impress your loved one. Trust us on this one.
Oh, and if you start with something sexy on, you won't even have to bother with doing anything else...
Aaaaaaand that's all for today, lovely dreamers! We hope you enjoyed our picks for today's budget friendly date ideas, and if you did, please make sure to share it, pin it, tweet it! We would surely appreciate it!
Our question for you is: What are your date ideas when you have a tight budget?
