Good morning, lovely dreamers, and welcome to another lifestyle blog post here on the Dreaming of Butterflies blog. We don’t know about you, but my beloved Andy and I, Maya, absolutely love Halloween. We always had a curiosity about all things supernatural, but going beyond that, we’re just a couple of big kids with a ton of imagination, that are allowed to drink alcohol and stay up late. And we love it!
Plus, Andy and I met because of a crazy Halloween night, what seems like 1000 years ago, so our connection to this magical day and night is stronger because of that.
You see, in 2012, when I was just a young, crazy 22-year-old red-headed witch still getting over my failed past relationship, and Andy was a gorgeous 20-year-old Legolas, going through his own madness, there was a magical night that changed our lives forever. And that night was Halloween.
The funny thing is that we were supposed to meet that night. But this particular witch had spent 2 hours prepping for the parties she was going to crash that Halloween, and because the rain was too violent and the party he attended was waaay too far to walk without ruining the hair and make-up, I didn’t go.
Our mutual friends did, especially one of them, Felix, who was wearing the sluttiest dress I own because he wanted to be the most expensive hooker out there on that night. And because he’s a tall guy with a big back, my dress was the only one that could ever fit him.
That dress, my friends, is the reason why Andy and I met.
You see when “Sexy Felicia” and her gorgeous dress went to that party, they were greeted by a very drunk, but very enthusiastic Andy. So enthusiastic that he almost destroyed my dress. I know that because Sexy Felicia came back an hour later looking like she came from a very different type of party (if you know what I mean).
All I knew was that “the long-haired dude” from work almost ripped my dress apart. Then and there I swore that I would never rest until I would see this “long-haired dude” bald. And that I would do it myself.
Oh boy, did I not expect what came next.
Two weeks later we met, I immediately fell for him, a month later we were dating, and now, it’s 9 years later and I still can’t believe it.
So that’s the story of why Halloween is soooooo big for us. It’s the reason we got together. And because we’re geeks, but hey, who’s counting?

I am sorry, but there’s no Halloween without the King and Queen!

When you think of Halloween, it’s impossible not to mention Morticia and Gomez Addams.

If you ask me, there’s nothing as creepy as two possessed dolls. Dressing up like them? Perfect for Halloween!

Because I love the Joker and his gorgeous crazy girl, I had to put them in the mix… twice! Just couldn’t decide on the pair. What do you think? Suicide Squad or classic?

There can be no Halloween, without at least a couple or two of these guys. After all, it’s all about them, isn’t it? From fancy vampire costumes to Dia de Los Muertos, anything scary goes!
Musketeers, Mimes, Pirates
If you’re not into that dark and bloody kind of thing, you can always opt-in for a more “alive” look with one of these ones! Plus, between you and me, you don’t need to stress about the make-up that much!
Just a quick note, there are sooooo many pirate costumes out there that I just couldn’t pick just one, so I went for: generic, with & without captain hats, a gorgeous Blackbeard costume paired with an interesting lady’s costume.
Egyptian Gods and Indians
Because, why not?
Doctors, Nurses & Mad Scientists
Did you think we were gonna forget about them? But keeping up with the times, Covid-19 plague and all the madness, we must include these!
