Good morning, lovely dreamers, and welcome to a new DIY blog post. Today, we just want to talk about the importance of having a clean home, and some DIYing.

Ah, spring! The long winter has finally gone, birds are singing, nature is awakening, the sun is shining... but, spring cleaning season also starts. For some, this is a magnificent time, but for others like us - on a budget, it's another time when we need to get creative.

We want to make it quick, easy, and as inexpensive as we possibly can. Nobody wants to spend a bunch of their hard-worked cash on cleaning products.

As a frugal future wife, I want only cheap but effective cleaning products, chemical-free, all-natural, environmentally friendly. And if I can DIY it, then it's perfect.

The biggest problem you have when moving on your own and having to take care of your house without mom always on your side is the price of all the products you need.

Believe me, that stuff can get pricy, especially since 2020 happened, and the importance of having a clean and bacteria-free home is vital - and the companies that supply what we need for that decided to spike up the prices.

A simple solution to this problem is to make your own. It sounds scary, I know, but it's not that hard at all.

Must haves:

- baking soda
- white vinegar
- essential oils
- rubbing alcohol
- dish soap (! do not use the type that makes a lot of foam, it will turn into a bubbling mess :) )
- water
- paper wipes (roll - thicker, for the kitchen, not the toilet)
- spray containers
- wipes container

But enough with the chit-chatting! Let's get to it!

Cheap & Easy DIY Cleaning Products

1. DIY Window Cleaner

This is so simple and extra efficient, works better than any other expensive window cleaners that you find in the supermarkets and it's all-natural.

All you need is a spray container for your mixture and: equal parts water and vinegar and a few drops of essential oil of your choice - if you like it. I love a combination of lavender and lemon for this one.

This will clean any windows, mirrors or glass doors in your house in no time and it doesn't leave stains or marks on the surface.

2. DIY Disinfectant

For this magical mix, you will need equal parts rubbing alcohol(also known as isopropyl alcohol) and water and about 10 drops of essential oil for a great smell. Spray it on and wipe the dirt and microbes off!

Perfect to use in the bathroom, in the kitchen and for your laptops, tablets, and phones as well. (But please don't spray it directly on your devices! use a microfiber cloth for that.)

3. DIY Scrub Paste

Instead of using expensive, full of nasty chemicals store-bought scrubbing paste, I love to make my own.

Mix together 1/3 cup of baking soda, 1/3 cup of dishwashing soap and a few drops of essential oils.

Scrape this on any dry, or hard to clean stains, including grease stains on the stove, let it sit for one minute, then gently scrub it off with a sponge.

4. DIY Floor Cleaner

Now I know that not everybody has only grindstone or wooden floors in their home, but this mix is amazing for this kind of floors. And it's essential.

Mix one part dish soap, with one part alcohol, 20 times water and again, optional, a few drops of essential oils in there. This mix is safe to use on this kind of floors and it also disinfects in the process.

And you know how important a disinfected floor is nowadays, thanks to 2020.

5. DIY All-Purpose Wet Wipes

When I first heard of this trick I was very sceptical. I thought it must involve some sort of fibre wipes that are expensive because I couldn't believe that simple dry sheets would stand and not transform into a big mush when you add the liquid.

I found that the secret to this is simple. It's all in the proportions.

Mix in 1 and 1/2 cups of water, 1/4 cup of alcohol, about 1 tablespoon of dish soap, and optional as always, essential oil.

Place your roll of paper in the container, if it is too long, just mark it and cut it to size. after you placed it in your container, gradually add the mix to it, and let it sit for a few minutes, so the wipes can absorb all the liquid.

Aaaand that's all for today, lovely dreamers! We hope you enjoyed our picks for today's DIY cleaning products. And if you did, make sure to share it, pin it, tweet it!

My question for you is: Do you DIY or buy?
